It's probably to throw people off by making them think it's a Buick. Car companies have fun doing stuff like that.
Recent concepts designs have shown that Cadillac isn't going to switch to waterfall grills anytime soon.

Most defiantly a ATS-V Coupe

I want it to be a lincoln to, but it's not. Ford doesn't have a RWD platfrom right now that is A) this small and B) good enough to underpin a credible attempt at a comeback to luxury for lincoln. They're years away from that, still. Patience.
A grill is a throw away piece of plastic they can easily strip off when time comes the unveil the beast. I don't personally know what it is, but everyone knows Cadillac has been developing some kind of M3/4/[Insert compact BMW coupe identifier here] for some time now, so that's probably it.

They might have one, but I don't think a rwd Lincoln would be on it for a few more years. The new Mustang platform is just about finished.

You could be onto something. Obviously, mules don't use the same wheels as the production car, but they are usually something from that maker's shelf. Maybe painted black, maybe unfinished instead of chrome or something, but some wheel from their catalogue. Isn't this style from a recent Ford product? Mustang, Expedition, something? They look familiar, and they look like they'd have exposed lug nuts and only a small logo on the hub.

Cadillac disguised the new Escalade as a Ford when they had it out testing in camo. So this could be a Caddy
It certainly has the ATS weird mid-side exhaust
The grille kind of looks like an overly chrome BMW kidney bean

I found the wheels that I was thinking these were. They're very similar to late-model Crown Vic 16" ones:
However, not only are there minor differences in the design, but also a major difference in size.

2003-2005, but they won't fit a Focus. Most often, RWD wheels aren't interchangeable with FWDs. The Crown Vic used 5 x 4.5" bolt pattern just like Explorer, Ranger, Mustang, and most other RWD Fords (except the F-150). 2012+ Focus? Nope, 5 x 108mm. If you're looking for older factory Ford rims in that bolt pattern, scout for Taurus/Sable/Continental, Contour/Mystique or even Windstar. I'm not sure about offset, but they all use the 5 x 108 pattern.
How 'bout some '92-'95 SHO wheels?
